Privacy
Short version: the app collects nothing, and this website collects the bare minimum needed to know it's being visited. Below is exactly what that means and why.
The inkwell app
inkwell is local-first by design. There is no account, no sign-up, and
no sync server. Your notes are stored as plain .md files in
a vault folder you choose on your own machine, and the app does not
transmit their contents anywhere. inkwell does not run telemetry or
usage tracking of any kind.
Two features make outbound network requests, and only when you use them: GitHub Sync, which pushes or pulls the specific note you choose to your own GitHub repository, and the Claude MCP integration, which lets a locally-configured Claude client read from and write to your vault. Both are opt-in and both talk directly to the service you've configured — not to us.
This website (inkwell-lp.vercel.app)
This marketing site uses Vercel Web Analytics to count page views. It's cookieless and doesn't use any persistent identifier to track you across visits or across other sites — it reports aggregated, anonymous traffic counts only.
Downloads
Clicking a download button sends you to a release asset hosted on GitHub's own infrastructure (https://github.com/coros-hq/inkwell), subject to GitHub's privacy policy for that request.
Contact
inkwell is an open-source project maintained on GitHub. Questions or concerns about this policy can be raised as an issue on the repository.
